Factors Associated with Driving Behavior and Road Traffic Accidents among Public Vehicle Drivers in Kathmandu Valley: A Cross-sectional Study

Introduction: Vehicle drivers are most significant stakeholder in any road traffic accident (RTAs). This study aims to assess their knowledge related signs and attitude towards safe driving practices identify self-reported risky behaviors, encounter of RTAs, associated factors.
 Methods: We carried out a cross-sectional Kathmandu valley. 14 prime spots were randomly selected time location sampling was done. A face-to-face interview done with public vehicle using structured questionnaire. analyzed the association logistic regression. Ethical clearance obtained from Institute Medicine. Informed written consent taken participants.
 Results: Of 411 drivers, mean age 31.8 (±8.2) years. All participants male which 71.0% lived joint family. More than half had less 10 year experience 20% them 12-18 hours per day. Half good on while nearly one tenth non-supportive practices. Prevalence at least behavior 68%, however, only few cases fined by traffic. Self-reported encounters RTA 21.7%; these, 22.2% also human injuries. Experiences years living nuclear family significantly driving. Moreover, 25 years, continuing fatigue RTAs.
